Student Referrals
The Gifted and Talented Specialist compiles student data for a committee to review, once per year in the spring. Gifted and talented service options are based on student data and committee recommendations.
If you have a student you would like to refer for more services, please fill out this form before April 15th. Referrals submitted after April 15th will be considered in the following school year. Parents will be asked to fill out the same form. Parents and teachers are encouraged to share student work samples, anecdotes, and specific information about the students, if they so choose.
Teachers, please attach work samples that reflect the student's typical classroom performance. We ask parents and teachers to answer the questions on the form as honestly as possible. Parents are asked to use exemplary work they already have. Please do not ask the student to complete anything extra for the purposes of completing this form. Holmdel offers a continuum of services in our G&T programming; it is not a one-size-fits-all, and having a clear picture of the student helps the committee make the best recommendations, so services align with the needs of the child.
